Beginning with the original Commencement program on November 9th, 1962, King City S.S. has presented various prizes, awards and bursaries to deserving students. Some of these awards have originated from families wishing to honour a loved one, others are donated by the school, local businesses, universities and various levels of government, all wishing to either assist those in financial need or reward a high school career highlighted by hard work and academic achievement.

KCSS Alumni Association Award Presented by the Association to a graduating student who excels in Academics, Athletics, Clubs and, particularly, Community Service ."

Anna Marzewski University Studies Memorial Prize is awarded to a graduating student who has achieved a distinguished academic record. In addition, this young person must have demonstrated wide interests in school and community activities."

Anna Marzewski Music Award Was awarded to a graduating student who showed exceptional aptitude in the field of music and planned to continue in the field after graduation"

Anna Marzewski Valedictory Award Presented annually to the graduating student[s] chosen by by their peers to present the valedictory address at the conclusion of the Commencement proceedings."

King Township Council Awards. These awards are made to students who are graduates and have earned the highest and second highest averages in their best seven credits studied at the grade 12 level or in their best six OAC’s [grade 13] studied."

Donald Ellison Award This is an award, first presented in 1972, given by the Ellison family to a student at King City Secondary School who quietly, and without fanfare, has contributed to the life of the school."

Faculty Scholarship Each year the staff of KCSS makes a cash award to a graduating O.A.C. student who is pursuing a post-secondary education. Selection is made on the basis of academic achievement, cooperation and leadership with peers and staff, contribution to school life and community involvement.

B.T. O'Beirn Award is presented by the current staff to a deserving graduating O.A.C. student in memory of the first Principal of KCSS.

Marilyn Hill Broad Award since 1972 has been presented by the Hill family to a deserving female student"

Principal's Prize Awarded to a Graduating Student On Behalf of the Principal For Outstanding Contribution.

Student Parliament Proficiency Prize Awarded, In the Early Years, to the Top Two Academic Students In Each Grade at Each Level .

William C. Wilson Memorial Technical Scholarship Trophy Presented Each Year By The Technical Department To a Deserving Student In Memory of The late Bill Wilson, Technical Teacher at KCSS, 1962 – 1974.

KCSS Automotive Award is given to the most deserving student graduating from the Automotive course.
